About Allan Alford Consulting
Allan Alford Consulting was launched as a boutique cybersecurity consulting practice at the end of 2019, with the intention of helping organizations efficiently implement and manage security programs and projects.
The practice is kept small, bringing in a hand-selected team of subject matter experts only as required, to forge long-term relationships with each client and to intimately understand and fulfill each organization's unique needs.
Allan Alford Consulting coaches aspiring CISOs and new CISOs as well.

With twenty+ years in information security, Allan has served as CISO five times in five industries, with a strong history in technology, manufacturing, telecommunications, litigation, education, cybersecurity and more - at companies ranging from 5 to 50,000 employees.
Allan parlayed an IT career into a product security career and then ultimately fused the two disciplines. This unique background means that Allan approaches the CISO role with a highly business-aligned focus and an understanding of an organization's greater goals, drivers, methods, and practices. Allan seeks at all turns to positively impact the top and bottom lines.
Allan holds a Master of Information Systems & Security and a Bachelor of Liberal Arts with a focus on Leadership.
Allan gives back to the security community via The Cyber Ranch Podcast, by authoring articles, speaking at conferences and teaching.
With twenty+ years in information security, Jay has served as CISO within the Digital Transformation Services industry with a strong history in Technology, FinTech, Telecommunications, Energy and more - at companies ranging from 5 to 7,200 employees.
Prior to being a CISO, Jay served as Principal Security Architect for texas.gov, Energy Sector mergers & acquisitions, and a number of startups.
Jay combined an IT career with Governance, Risk Management and Compliance experience, meaning he approaches the CISO role with a holistic understanding of an organization's security and privacy needs.
Jay seeks at all turns to eliminate superfluous spending, improve the efficiency and efficacy of tool utilization and to find ways to monetize security programs.
Jay holds a B.B.A in Management of Information Systems and a B.B.A in Risk Management & Insurance from Baylor University.
